American Legion Post 28 hosts inaugural Family Day

American Legion Post 28 hosted its inaugural Family Day event April 27 on the spacious grounds of the post near Millsboro. This event drew community members together for a day filled with music from the George Spicer Band and delicious food.
Candice Ruckle, American Legion Auxiliary education chair, said, “This event aims to bring our veterans’ organizations and the people of the community together to celebrate our patriotism, our love for our nation and our flag.”
Beyond the entertainment and culinary delights, the event also served as a platform to raise awareness about the legion's ongoing initiatives, commitment to serving the community beyond their traditional roles, and support programs for veterans and their families.
Candice Ruckle, American Legion Auxiliary education chair, serves as emcee for the event.
