Barratt’s Chapel summer worship series kicks off June 13

Barratt’s Chapel will present its summer worship series at 7 p.m., Thursdays, at 6362 Bay Road, Frederica. All are welcome. A variety of pastors, churches and organizations will preach and create different worship experiences. There will be no service July 4.

Camp Pecometh will bring together campers and staff past and present June 13, in a service reminiscent of the camping experience. The Rev. Megan Shitama-Weston, ordained deacon and Pecometh program director, will preach.

The  Rev. Dale Brown, senior pastor of Community United Methodist Church in Berlin, Md., will lead the service June 20. Brown has served a number of different churches in the Peninsula Delaware Conference over his career.

The Rev. Amy Yarnall of Wesley UMC in Dover will lead the June 27 session. Yarnall has served in the conference since 1997 and is passionate about spiritual formation, mission and justice.

The Rev. Casey Houtz, who serves Ewell-St. Paul in Clayton, will lead the July 11 worship. He is in his sixth year of pastoral ministry after a career in broadcasting.

The Rev. Wendy Owens Butterworth of Millville UMC in Millville will preach July 18.

The Rev. Tom Pasmore, incoming Delaware district superintendent, will lead the July 25 service. He has served in a number of appointments in Delaware and on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
