The Cape Gazette goes to Patagonia

May 25, 2024

Bob Hansen and Kevin Mallinson of Lewes took an 18-day cruise in South America. Boarding their ship outside Santiago, the first few days took them southward through the Chilean fjords and into the Strait of Magellan. They went whitewater rafting on the Petrohué River, weaving by several volcanoes. Bob and Kevin are shown here proudly displaying their Cape Gazette in the Tierra del Fuego National Park in Patagonia. Their trip continued through the Beagle Channel to Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world. After rounding Cape Horn, they proceeded onto the stark beauty of the Falkland Islands to see sea lions and penguins. Then, a quick stop in Montevideo, Uruguay before spending their last days in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
