Rally For Our First Responders receives outpouring of support

Organizers of the Third Annual Rally For Our First Responders held June 1 at Hudson Fields said the event exceeded expectations and surpassed their fundraising goal. The event raised $101,875, surpassing the target of $100,000.
Kyle Shaffer, president and founder of The Shaffer Family Foundation, distributed checks to Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company ($11,000), Lewes Fire Department ($11,000), Georgetown Fire Company ($12,000), Milton Fire Department ($13,000), Indian River Fire Company ($11,000), Crime Stoppers ($4,500), Delaware C.O.P.S. ($3,875), Fit 4 Duty ($6,500), 1SP1970 Friends of DSP ($5,000), Sussex Paramedic Association ($4,000), Beebe Medical Foundation ($5,000), Camp Barnes ($6,000), Georgetown EMS ($6,000) and Lt. Mark Dawson ($3,000).
“We are incredibly moved and deeply grateful for the overwhelming support we've received,” said Shaffer. “The success of this event is a testament to the compassion and dedication of our community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this cause, whether through donations, volunteering or spreading the word. Together, we've made a significant impact on the lives of those who protect and serve us every day.”
Preparations are underway for the Fourth Annual Rally For Our First Responders, scheduled for 12 to 5 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Hudson Fields near Milton. The rain date will be Sunday, June 1.
